As a lead engineer, I support this. I do like design docs but as the article mentions in an ideal setting that would be more about alignment with stakeholders and a general approach than nailing down specifics.
This is a pretty interesting little document language. I think for configuration files it’s probably a really solid choice (though I’ve not actually tried it).
